Stainglass is overdue...
No, your eyes are not playing tricks on you...I was working on a stainglass window (OK a very over due wedding gift) and not fusing on Tuesday night. Tom was even doing stainglass and not mosaic, and Rita was fusing and not beading. It was like all of us decided that we needed a change this week.
The group was small and emptied out fast and the room was much cooler than the previous weeks (thank goodness). Madeline is still at the beach and when she is gone so are others, I guess it will fill back up again next week.
I started with the stainglass so many years ago and I try do at least one a year to keep the skills up...The over due gift is a stack of books on a table with curtains blowing in...I have to say that I am VERY happy with the cuts so far and I only had to recut one small piece. The boarders of the window are complete now all I have to work on next week is the stack of books in the middle. Most of those cuts should be easy however they all have curves, its the picking out that colors of glass that might take longer than anything. The table is a swirly brown and black, with green with white swippys for the curtains, bubble clear for rain-like drops on the windows, and clear ripple for the page ends of the book. Not sure what I am going to use for the books. But it will all come together. And the following week I will take the pieces home and wrap them and bring them back to put it all together...and then it will be ready to take over to the married couple at the first part of September so that they will have it with in the "year" of their wedding.
